Knitting: learning to make selvedge stitches

The selvedge stitches are used on the edges of a knitting to start and finish a work. Depending on your needs, different edges can be used. Here are their main uses. 1. Slip stitch border This selvedge provides a clean edge but is not very suitable if you have to pick up stitches later.
2. Foam border This selvedge creates a very clean edge. However, it is not suitable for quilters' points.
3. Double border This selvedge is perfectly suitable for knitting pretty edges that are not intended to be sewn.
