Increasing the meshes makes it possible to enlarge a structure. As is the case with mesh reduction, several techniques can be used for this purpose. The most common, presented below, consists in increasing a stitch at the place. 1. When you get to the place where you want to increase, knit the next stitch and make sure you keep it on the left needle.
2. Insert the right needle into the back of the stitch previously made on the left needle.
3. Wind the ball of yarn over the front of the right needle.
4. Bring the thread and needle through the previous stitch, then drop the initial stitch from the left needle to complete the increase in stitch.
